Mosquito Spraying Scheduled for School Fields

School superintendent advises students to wear insect repellent.

Superintendent Marianne O’Connor reported today that all school fields will be treated with pesticides next week.

“ To do what we can in keeping our students safe, I have contracted with Central Mass Mosquito Control Center to apply pesticides to all school fields,” she said in a prepared statement.

Because rain is in the forecast, the pesticide application is being delayed until Wednesday, Sept. 28. O’Connor noted that schools will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29 for Rosh Hashanah.
