Open Door Day Rings In A New School Year
Smiling faces, eager anticipation and excitement filled the halls of Mill Pond.
Parents and their children filled the halls of Mill Pond School this morning for Open Door Day. There was an air of excitement and eager anticipation as incoming students toured the school with helpful and gracious sixth grade tour guides. Parents, grandparents, siblings and friends visited classrooms and enjoyed refreshments in the cafeteria. While parents mingled with neighbors and friends, children caught up with classmates and played on the playground.
Teachers were visibly absent, enjoying the final days of summer and preparing their curriculums for the upcoming school year. Classrooms were open, though, so students were able to look around and get acclimated.
Smiles filled the faces of most of the incoming fourth graders who voiced eagerness about starting a new academic year.
