Pre-Special Town Meeting Open Forums Offered for Westborough Voters

These forums offer voters a way to better prepare for the special town meeting.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—There is a Special Town Meeting beginning on Monday, Oct. 17, and all registered voters in Westborough can fully participate and vote. The Special Town Meeting will be held in the High School Auditorium at 7 p.m.

Voters will decide on 27 warrant articles, which include installing electronic speed signs, trail easements, construction grant for the library, and repairing the country club and updating the senior center.

To provide voters an opportunity for voters to better prepare for the Special Town Meeting, the town moderator hosts two separate open forums on Wednesday, Oct. 12, and Thursday, Oct. 13, from 7-9 p.m. in Room 23 of the Forbes Building (2nd floor, 45 West Main Street).

All town voters are invited to attend and ask questions about the Town Meeting process.

These open forums are a direct result of voter suggestions from previous Moderator Open Forums held earlier this year, said an announcement from the town. These open forums are not a substitute for the deliberations that happen at the Special Town Meeting. Instead, these meetings are intended as an informal review and discussion of what the voters can expect to act upon at the Special Town Meeting and how every voter can participate.
