Westborough Education Groups Score Grants
Two education-focused organizations will receive $2,000 to continue their work in town.

Two Westborough organizations have received $2,000 grants from the Staples Foundation, the Framingham-based office supplies retailer announced recently.
The Westborough Education Foundation and the Westborough Special Education Parent Advisory Council were each chosen to receive the funding after being nominated by a Staples employee, the company said in a press release.
In all, the foundation awarded $180,000 to 50 different non-profit organizations in Massachusetts and $2.5 million to 112 groups across the country. All of the funds went to non-profits focused on providing provide young people with academic support, technology skills and job skills.
“Staples Foundation is committed to providing educational and personal growth opportunities in Massachusetts, where our company was founded,” said Amy Shanler, director of community relations for Staples. “As the company celebrates its 25th year of doing business and contributing to the economies of communities around the country, we are proud to support organizations throughout the state that make a positive impact and invest in tomorrow’s leaders today.”
Massachusetts organizations that received the largest grants this year include the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest in Marlborough, which received $15,000 for its Technology for All program and Operation Outreach in Holliston, which was granted $24,000 for its literacy program.
