What Is the Taxable Value of Westborough?

According to 2011 Westborough Annual Town Report, property in Westborough is valued at over $3 billion. The report filed by shows the town’s valuation for Fiscal Year 2012, as approved by the Department of Revenue:

In her report, Swadel explains how the statistics compare to the previous year, saying, “[The] analysis resulted in a reduction of just over $11 million in the residential valuation, a decrease of just over $93 million in the commercial/industrial valuation and an increase of just under $47 million in the personal property valuation, for an overall reduction of just over $58 million in the total valuation of the town.”

The report continues, “On December 6, 2011, the Department of Revenue approved a tax rate of $19.21/thousand. This was an increase of $.97 from the FY2011 rate of $18.24, which was due to a combination of the reduced value [see above]…and an increase in the levy of $2 million. Our tax levy for Fiscal 2012, or amount of dollars to be raised through taxation, is $61,005,858.46.”
