WHS Boys Hoop Wins in OT
The Rangers advance to the 2013 MIAA Boys Basketball Central Division 1 quarterfinals at Milford at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Westborough High School varsity boys basketball team won its state tournament first round game Tuesday night, defeating host South, 71-67, in overtime, according to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
The Rangers advance to the 2013 MIAA Boys Basketball Central Division 1 quarterfinals at Milford at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The winner will play in the semi-finals at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at WPI, against the winner of Thursday's Doherty-Wachusett quarterfinal.

Westborough is seeded last in the 11-team bracket after finishing the season 11-9. Milford is seeded third (17-3 regular season), and received a first-round bye. South was seeded sixth (14-6 regular season).
Meanwhile, the WHS girls will play at Holy Name at 7 p.m. Friday in a 2013 MIAA Girls Basketball Central Division 1 quarterfinal.

The winner advances to the semi-finals at 7:30 p.m. March 5 at Clark University. The Westborough-Holy Name winner will play the winner of Friday night's Shepherd Hill-Doherty quarterfinal.
Westborough (10-10) is seeded last in the eight-team tournament. Holy Name (18-2) is seeded first. Shepherd Hill (14-6) is seeded fifth. And Doherty (15-5) is seeded fourth.
