For the second straight year, the Westborough High School varsity softball team will open its season with six games on Cape Cod.
The school committee this past week approved head coach Greg Rota’s request to let the Rangers play in the Lady Falcon tournament in Mashpee and Falmouth on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24.
Westborough will play three games each day, staying overnight at the Falmouth Inn, Rota said.

The Rangers will send 16 to 18 players, and two coaches, he said. The cost will be the same as last year: $80 per quad, which represents about $20 per person.
“Last year was extremely valuable. The girls, I think after playing six games, they were ready to play softball at the beginning of the season.”
