Why Did I Get a Postcard About Voting?

Today, we answer this inquiry: Why did I get a postcard from the Westborough Board of Registrars recently?

"The town clerk’s office did not receive the annual census form that is mailed to every household in January every year," Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga said Wednesday.

The clerk's office processes every form that it gets, she said.

"If we didn’t get yours, then you automatically become Inactive when we push the button," Yendriga said.

The town clerk's office waited until after the June 25 special state election to do so, she said.

"This is a process put in place by the Secretary of the Commonwealth.  It is a way of keeping our voter lists clean and up-to-date," Yendriga said.
