Hastings Elementary School, 111 East Main St., was the setting for the 5th Annual Winter Festival, attracting an estimated 500 people. The event took place on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Sponsored by Hastings Parent Group, the festival featured something for everyone — games, crafts, food, live jazz music, a silent auction and basket raffles. For children, there were activities including face painting, a bounce house, sand art and the ever-popular cake walk.

Munsey’s Magic returned to perform an entertaining magic show and the Morgan Scott Trio performed live jazz throughout the evening.

Money raised at this event supports Hastings Elementary School enrichment programs by financing supplemental programs to support classroom curricula, such as field trips, guest speakers and additional educational materials for students and staff.

The event was organized by co-chairs Shannon Vallee and Vanessa Aires with support from school staff, teachers, parents and local businesses.
