Boy Dies After Crashing Into Tree at Nashoba Valley Ski Area
The boy was identified as 13-year-old Rajiv Paluri.
A 13-year-old Westford boy died after crashing into a tree at Nashoba Valley Ski Area Saturday afternoon.
Rajiv Paluri, an eighth-grader at Blanchard Middle School, was skiing between the Tomahawk and Lobo trails at the time of the crash. In a statement, the ski area said its ski patrol “did everything it could.”

“We ask that you keep (Paluri’s family) in your thoughts,” the statement read.

The boy was reportedly unconscious when first responders arrived.
Al Fletcher, the ski area’s general manager, told CBS Boston it was the first skiing-related death at Nashoba Valley, which first opened in 1964.
The boy was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Grief counselors will be available at Blanchard Middle School.
