Regis College Board elects O’Neill and Korzendorfer new Trustees

June 2, 2014

Regis College has named Thomas P. O’Neill, III, of Boston, and Kate Korzendorfer of Brookline to the College’s Board of Trustees.

O’Neill is founder and chief executive officer of O’Neill and Associates, a leading public relations and government affairs consulting firm in Boston. A former state legislator and Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts from 1975-1983, O’Neill’s expertise spans public and private sectors in transportation, healthcare, higher education, financial services and nonprofit development. O’Neill is the oldest son of the late U.S. Speaker Tip O’Neill. He serves on many boards including Tufts Health Plan, Mt. Auburn Hospital, Massachusetts Hospital Schools Foundation, the Women’s Lunch Place, and Boston College. He received a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

“I have watched Regis grow from the sidelines, being in the Boston area and abreast on trends in higher education,” said O’Neill. “The strategic initiatives planned are right on target and will project Regis for future growth in the higher education market not only in New England, but nationally and beyond our borders.”

Regis College President, Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, noted that “Tom is a longtime leader, well known in Massachusetts. His roots in community service and government relations and his dedication to higher education make him a welcome addition to the Board. We look forward to working with him at Regis.”

Korzendorfer is Vice President of Technology Commercial Delivery at RBS Citizens Bank in Cranston, RI, where she manages programs and projects in commercial banking and asset finance. Prior to this, she was Program Manager at Norman Technologies in Charlotte, NC, a global consulting firm providing management and technology consulting services. “Kate’s extensive knowledge of technology and systems bring a great deal of support to Regis and growing our technology innovation programs,” said President Hays. “She will be an asset to our Board.”

“I admire Regis’ innovation when it comes to technology,” said Korzendorfer. “Being one of the first all-iPad institutions was quite the achievement, and President Hays is right to link technological development today to the College’s strong commitment to the human community. I am thrilled to be a part of an institution seeking technological advance for today’s students."
