Irish Step Dancing Championships

Over the weekend before Thanksgiving, 3 West Roxbury girls danced in the New England Oireachtas in Providence, RI on behalf of the Heavey-Quinn Academy of Irish Dance. The Oireachtas is the regional championship of Irish Step Dancing that brings in more than 1,000 competitors from all over New England. The 3 girls were Norah and Maeve O’Toole and Marie Gormley (the niece of the Lord Mayor of West Roxbury, Richie Gormley). In particular, these 3 were a part of a 16 girl team that won the figure choreography competition. By winning, the team will be travelling to Montreal, Canada in the Spring of 2015 to compete in the World Championships of Irish Dance for this team dance. Congratulations ladies!
