Election Wrap-Up: Mike Rush to Face Brad Williams in State Senate Race

In the local race that drew the greatest interest, Ed Coppinger won the Democratic Primary for the 10th Suffolk District, besting Kelly Tynan.

Coppinger will face no opponent in the general election in November. 

Bob Joyce came in third, then Paul Sullivan, Pamela Julian and then Matt Benedetti. 

The man who holds the district seat currently, for Suffolk and Norfolk counties. Rush will face Republican Brad Williams, a West Roxbury resident like Rush.

Marian Walsh currently holds the State Senate seat and decided not to seek reelection. 

In the US Congress race Congressman Stephen Lynch defeated Mac D'Allesandro in the Democratic Primary. Lynch will face Republican Vernon Harrison, who beat Roslindale's Keith Lepor.

In the Treasure's race At-Large Boston City Councilor Stephen Murphy lost to Steve Grossman in the Democratic primary. Grossman will face Republican Karen Polito in November. 

Suzanne Bump took the Democratic nod in the State Auditor's race, and will face Republican Mary Connaughton.
