GARDENING TALK: "Seasonal Care for Gorgeous, Well-Behaved Gardens" with Kerry Ann Mendez

Learn how to spend less time maintaining your garden and more time savoring it.

After our record-setting winter, gardeners are both looking forward to spring flowers and dreading their longer-than-ever lists of garden chores. But take heart! According to author and garden consultant Kerry Ann Mendez, it is possible to reduce the time and effort required to have an “impress-the-neighbors” garden. Learn how on April 8th, at Mendez’s illustrated lecture on “Seasonal Care for Gorgeous, Well-Behaved Gardens,” presented by The Evening Garden Club of West Roxbury.

Kerry Ann Mendez has been a featured guest on HGTV and has appeared in numerous gardening magazines including Horticulture, Fine Gardening, Garden Gate and Better Homes and Gardens’ Garden Ideas & Outdoor Living. She regularly speaks to packed audiences at the New England Flower & Garden Show and other regional and national events, where she is known as much for her humorous style as for her gardening expertise. Mendez is also a national spokesperson for Proven Winners® plants and Espoma® brand garden products.

A devotee of low-maintenance gardening and landscaping techniques, Mendez will reveal her personal recipe for saving time on year-round garden chores, including tips for pruning, cutting back and deadheading; what, when and how to fertilize; and mulch selection and use. She will also be sharing her top picks for workhorse perennials, accompanied by eye-popping photographs.
