West Roxbury Pipeline Protestors Arrested

The activists were taken into custody after blocking a driveway and refusing to allow trucks to pass.

WEST ROXBURY, MA - Three activists protesting the West Roxbury Pipeline were arrested at the construction site of Spectra Energy's metering and regulating station Thursday.

Patricia O'Hagan, 51, and Alexander Chatfield, 55, both of Lincoln, and Oliver Stephenson, 48, of Wayland were taken into custody at about 10:30 a.m. after blocking the driveway to the site and refusing to allow trucks to pass.

The three were part of a larger group asked by police to relocate to the gate of the site and protest peacefully. While much of the group complied with officers, police said O'Hagan, Chatfield and Stephenson stayed and refused multiple requests to disperse.

They were arrested without incident and charged with disturbing the peace; each also received a civil citation for obstruction of travel.

According to a Facebook post from the activist group "Resist the West Roxbury Pipeline," the three were members of the Climate Justice group from St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Lincoln.
