West Roxbury Resident Opening 'Sanctuary' Restaurant in JP
Adam Rutstein told the JP Gazette he's opening up 'Sanctuary' on the campus of the Blessed Sacrament site.

A West Roxbury resident expects to open an American-style bistro called Sanctuary in Jamaica Plain come October.
Adam Rutstein told the JP Gazette, the restaurant will offer gluten-free and vegetarian meals, too. The restaurant will be located in the JPNDC building next to where the former Catholic Church, Blessed Sacrament, was located.

Rutstein spoke about the significance of the restaurant's name:
The restaurant’s name, aside from a play on the former function of the Blessed Sacrament campus, the site of a former Catholic church, has a deeper meaning, Rutstein said.

“‘Sanctuary’ means a safe haven,” Rutstein said. “We want people to come in and feel comfortable.”
