Star Power Comes to the Westwood Pubic Library

New Building To Host Two Best-Selling Authors and Television Journalist

Best-selling authors Hallie Ephron and Hank Phillippi Ryan will make a joint appearance at the new Westwood Public Library on October 28.   The next evening the library will host Ted Reinstein of Channel 5’s “Chronicle.”

“It is rare for a library to attract one well-known personality, let alone three,” said Library Director Tom Viti.  “We are very pleased to host a trio of very talented individuals for what promises to be two very exciting evenings at the library.”

Ephron and Phillippi Ryan will hold a book talk and will showcase their latest novels, both well-received suspense titles. 

Ephron's suspense stories have been called "unputdownable" (Laura Lippman), "richly atmospheric" and "Hitchcockian" (USA Today), and "deliciously creepy (Publisher's Weekly).  Her latest, There Was An Old Woman,” has been touted as her most accomplished novel of physiological suspense yet.

Ryan is on the air as an investigative reporter at Boston's NBC affiliate. Her work has resulted in new laws, people sent to prison, homes removed from foreclosure, and millions of dollars in restitution. Along with her 30 EMMYs, Hank is the author of six crime fiction novels, including her newest, The Wrong Girl.

Reinstein, a reporter, producer and anchor for Chronicle, the nation’s longest running locally-produced nightly news magazine, will discuss his new book New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories, which was recently selected by National Geographic Traveler as a “Best” pick.

“The authors will give readers an inside look at their latest books and what it takes to write a page turner.  It will be a lively evening and the authors will be available after to answer questions and sign books.” said Viti.

Both evenings are free to the public and will be presented in the Main Library meeting room.
