Westwood Planning Board Opening - Seeking Fifth Member

The Westwood Planning Board has an immediate opening for a Planning Board member to serve until the next election in the spring. Planning Board members participate on application reviews at public board meetings typically held on Tuesday evenings twice a month. The selected individual will be expected to review application material electronically in advance of each meeting and participate in the Board meetings currently held via Zoom. The Board’s 2021 meeting schedule is available on the Planning Board’s webpage at the following link.

Experience with plan reviews, land use, zoning, engineering, and service on a municipal board or commission is encouraged and desirable. Due to a recent resignation, we are seeking to fill the seat beginning in January until the conclusion of Annual Town Meeting planned for May 3, 2021.

At the annual town election scheduled for April 27, 2021, the position will be posted on the ballot. At the election, residents will be able to select a candidate to fill the position for the remainder of the term, which is one-year. This is an opportunity to serve your community and participate in the operation of Town government.

If you are interested, please email a letter of interest and resume to the Select Board’s office by 4:30 pm on Monday, January 4, 2021 at selectboard@townhall.westwood.ma.us with “Planning Board Member Position” in the subject line. Interested applicants will be invited to attend a remote public meeting where the Select Board and Planning Board members will interview candidates and vote to appoint the fifth member.
