Westwood Police Log: Suspicious Activity at Capt. Marden's Seafood, Car Damaged at Highland Glen

Police were unable to find reported intruders at the seafood business, nor were they able to find the cause for damage to a vehicle of a local resident.

August 4, 6:43 p.m. – Westwood Police responded to Captain Marden's Seafood on Perwal Street after receiving reports of suspicious activity.

The fire door to the building had been pried open and it was reported that flashlights had been seen moving around inside the building, police said.

Upon arrival, Westwood Police and the building's owner found no damage to the fire door and no one had been found at the scene.

August 6, 10:21 a.m. – Police responded to the Highland Glen Apartments after receiving reports of damage to a vehicle in the parking lot at the property.

One of the residents of the complex found damage to the right rear side bumper of their 2001 Ford Explorer. Reprots indicate that the car may have been hit by another vehicle pulling out of a parking space.

There is also a possibility that the damage was caused accidentally by construction workers, who have been resealing the parking lot at Highland Glen, police said.

Police were unable to find any other vehicles in the lot with matching damage.
