Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle, and the owner told police that he was not sure when the break-in might have occurred, as he had left the car unattended for several weeks.

Reports did indicate, however, that the car was unlocked, though the make and year of the vehicle were not reported.

August 30, 10:05 p.m. – In an unrelated incident, police received a report of car theft on Longmeadow Drive.

A family on the street reported their Au Pair took off with the family's Volvo without permission. The Au Pair had been hired in July, reports indicated, and decided to move out, taking all her belongings along with the family's car.

While the Volvo was recovered on August 31 in Boston, police said it was unclear wither the Au Pair would be charged, and the matter is still under investigation.
