Westwood Police Log: Vehicles Collide on High, East Streets
A number of vehicles collided recently on High Street, while accidents continued on the East Street Rotary.
August 10, 8:22 a.m. – Westwood Police responded to the area of High Street and Nahatan Street after receiving reports of a two-car accident.
A 2008 Mercedes SUV, operated by a 37-year-old female from Westwood, was traveling east on High Street, and went to pass another vehicle.
As the car was passing, it then struck a 2005 Jeep, operated by a 26-year-old male from Milford. The two cars collided in the right travel lane of High Street, according to police reports.

August 11, 7:48 a.m. – Two vehicles collided on High Street near Church Street, according to reports.
A 2000 freightliner tractor-trailer, operated by a 39-year-old male from Portsmouth, Rhode Island, had been parked on the side of the road, facing east on High Street, when a 2008 Hyundai, operated by a 23-year-old male from Needham, went to pass the truck.

As the Hyundai went to pass, the tractor-trailer began to merge into traffic, causing a collision between the two vehicles. Reports indicated that the driver of the tractor-trailer may have pulled over to get a better view of where he was.
No one was cited in the accident, and the Hyundai was towed from the scene with damage to the front end.
August 11, 2:21 p.m. – Two cars collided at the East Street Rotary, causing one injury, according to Westwood police reports.
A 2009 Toyota, operated by a 31-year-old male from Londonderry, New Hampshire, had stopped at a yield sign at the rotary, when a second vehicle – a 2010 Lexus, driven by a 20-year-old female from Westwood – hit the Toyota from behind.
The Toyota was towed from the scene and the driver was transported to Norwood Hospital for minor injuries.
