• Infrastructure Work to Begin in September as South Weymouth Naval Air Station Redevelopment Moves Forward (southshore.news subscription) — Major construction at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station is finally set to begin this September, bringing new roads, water, drainage, and utility lines to the Weymouth side of the property. Developers outlined a yearlong Phase 1 plan at Chapman Middle School, promising union-only contracts, protections for nearby neighborhoods, and a dedicated website so Weymouth residents can track detours, truck routes, and construction impacts in real time.
   

• Robert Neef, 73 (thequincysun.com) — A beloved Randolph resident, Robert "Bobby" Neef, is being honored with a funeral procession that begins Tuesday, Sept. 8 at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in South Weymouth before traveling to his burial in Attleboro. Friends are also invited to a Celebration of Life luncheon that same day at Vinfen on Libbey Industrial Parkway in Weymouth to share memories of his joyful, routine-loving spirit.
