"Bootys for the Battle" to benefit the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network

Kelly Brabants, Founder of the popular Boston-based fitness and fashion brand, Booty by Brabants™, will be hosting the inaugural “Bootys for the Battle” event on Saturday, August 8th at The Club by George Foreman III to benefit the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network, a cause that Kelly holds especially close to her heart since the devastating stage 4 MBC diagnosis of her best friend’s mother, Barbara Bigelow.

Barbara is a resident of Easton, MA, a wife and mother of 2 beautiful girls, a school psychologist, a world traveler, and a long term cancer patient. After 13 years in remission, Barbara was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in February 2015.

The Club will be providing its entire gym space for “Bootys for the Battle”, where Kelly will host her largest and most anticipated Booty by Brabants class yet; the class will be open to nearly 100 people and 100% of ticket sales will go toward MBCN. Following the class will be the chance to win some exciting raffle items and a special Booty by Brabants trunk show where 10% of all BBB sales will benefit MBCN.

Currently, only 7% of funds raised for breast cancer research are being spent on MBC, and there has been no change in the MBC stats in 20 years; however, for Barbara - who has been given a 26 month life expectancy – and the 155,000 others in the U.S. who are currently battling MBC, the fight is not over.

“I do not plan on going anywhere without a battle and I am determined to drag myself through the door to my future for my family and all the people who have meant so much to me,” said Barbara Bigelow. “I am honored to be part of this event, and I believe that increased awareness of MBC and funding for MBC research will bring us closer to a cure, maybe even in my lifetime.
