Hanover resident helps make pirate tree house dream a reality for 6-y.o. boy

Hanover resident Chris King, of Liberty Construction, hands Ethan Anderson the blueprints for his Make-A-Wish pirate ship treehouse as his family looks on in Forestdale, MA (Forestdale is a village within Sandwich, MA). Looking on during the ceremonial ribbon cutting are Nicole Murphy from Make-A-Wish of MA and RI, Ethan’s grandparents Carol Cussick and Robert Blouin, his brother Lucas, mom Pam, dad Gordon and Chris King from Liberty Construction.

Liberty Construction Services, an affiliate of Suffolk Construction partnered with Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island to make a 6 year old’s wish for a pirate-themed treehouse come true yesterday. The young boy, Ethan Anderson, was diagnosed with complex congenital heart disease and wished for a place that would double as a play area and space to work with his therapist.

Due to his current health condition, Ethan has trouble breathing and severe fatigue, which required special attention in building him the perfect pirate hide away.

Liberty Construction Services designed the treehouse with Ethan’s guidance -- complete with a captain’s wheel, fisherman’s netting, a slide, a staircase to help with his activity restrictions, and a lookout where he can watch for incoming pirates. He has named it “The Wish Ship.”
