New Plans Expected to Be Unveiled for Weymouth’s SouthField Project
A new master plan for SouthField is expected to be unveiled in September or October.

The company redeveloping the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station announced earlier this week that changes must be made to the master plan for the new project to move forward.
Starwood Land Ventures LLC has hired two Massachusetts firms - Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. and Sasaki Associates of Watertown -- to work on creating a revised development plan for the site, which covers approximately 1,400 acres in the towns of Abington, Rockland, and Weymouth, the Globe reported.
The new plan is expected to be unveiled in September or October.

The current plan calls for the air base to be transformed into a community called SouthField, which includes over 2,500 homes along with 2 million square feet of commercial space, as well as an 18-hole golf course, a movie studio complex, and athletic facilities.
