Red Cross Braintree Blood Donation Center Moving to Weymouth
The new center in Weymouth will open on June 20.

The American Red Cross will relocate the Braintree Blood Donation Center to a brand new donation center in Weymouth at 208 Main Street. The new Weymouth Blood Donation Center will offer multiple donation procedures, including blood, platelets and plasma starting Saturday, June 20, 2015. Located near two major thoroughfares, Weymouth is a convenient location for donors in the South Shore area.
The center will be open six days a week and will operate under the following hours: Monday 12 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday11:30 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday (every other) 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 6:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
“We are excited to open the doors to our new Weymouth Blood Donation Center and provide our generous blood and platelet donors with a new convenient opportunity to donate,” said Jeff Meyer, CEO, Massachusetts Blood Services Region. “We believe the relocation to Weymouth will provide the opportunity to both maintain the current donor base and grow significantly in the South Shore area.”

The last day of collections at the Braintree Blood Donation Center will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
In preparation for the Braintree Blood Donation Center closing, the Red Cross will continue to hold regularly scheduled blood drives in the surrounding Braintree community at area churches, businesses, schools and other community locations. The Red Cross will continue to provide patients, hospitals and blood donors with the same high level of quality service they expect and deserve. Emergency disaster response, health and safety training and other services will continue.
