South Shore Health/Local Police partner for Drug Take-Back Day

South Shore Health teams-up with Local Police Agencies for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

In support of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on October 26, South Shore Health has partnered with several local agencies including, Weymouth and Norwell Police Departments to provide safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing unwanted and expired medications.

We would like to encourage all patients, as well as their families and friends, to consider bringing their unused and unwanted medications to South Shore Hospital, Weymouth or Norwell Police Departments for appropriate disposal,” said Jason Tracy, MD, Chief of Emergency Medicine at South Shore Hospital. “A prescription drop-off program allows people to safely dispose of medications—keeping harmful substances, especially dangerous narcotics, both out of the hands of those who could abuse them and out of our environment.”
