South Shore Hospital Ranked Among Top 5 Best Hospitals in Metro Boston by U.S. News & World Report

For the seventh consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked South Shore Hospital among the state's Best Hospitals.

South Weymouth, MA—August 8, 2017— For the seventh consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked South Shore Hospital among the state’s Best Hospitals. For the 2017-2018 reporting year, South Shore Hospital is ranked #5 in Metro Boston and #7 in Massachusetts. In addition, South Shore Hospital also earned “High-Performance” scores in four procedures/conditions including: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Colon Cancer Surgery, Heart Failure, and Lung Cancer Surgery.

The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals analysis reviews clinical specialties, procedures and medical conditions. Scores are based on data that include survival, patient safety, nurse staffing and other factors.
