Bomb Threats Reported at South Shore Hospital, Police Station

Several businesses also received the automated call.

WEYMOUTH, MA - A new round of threats hit Weymouth Monday night.

South Shore Hospital confirmed that they received a recorded call as part of an automated call system. All patients, staff and visitors are safe, with Weymouth police checking the building.

The Weymouth Police Department confirmed Monday night that the hospital, several retail stores, supermarkets, and the police station received bomb threats by phone starting at about 8:30 p.m.

The locations were checked by officers with assistance from the K-9 explosive detection units from the Quincy Police Department and MBTA Transit Police, Department, according to Weymouth police.

Mutual aid was provided by patrol units from Braintree and Quincy.

The threats are the most recent to hit Weymouth. On Jan. 15, both middle schools received an automated threat. Four days later, the middle schools and high school again received a threatening call. In both cases, no suspicious items were discovered.

The latest incident is under investigation by police.
