Arrest Made in Connection with Death of Wilmington Man in Maine: Police
The man was arrested in connection with the death of John Mullin, who was struck and killed while walking on a Maine sidewalk.

WILMINGTON, MA — Police in Maine have made an arrest in connection with the death of a Wilmington man who was vacationing at a lake house.
The York County Sheriff's office announced Wednesday that it had arrested William George, 41, of Sanford, ME, who police say was driving the vehicle that struck John Mullin, 47, of Wilmington on July 4. Shortly after a Fourth of July parade, Mullin was struck by a vehicle while walking on a sidewalk, according to the York County Sheriff's office.

During the subsequent investigation, George arrived on foot to the scene and admitted to striking Mullin and leaving the scene. Police also stated that a third party who owned the vehicle driven by George claimed that George did not have permission to use the vehicle.
George has been charged with operating a motor vehicle after suspension and an accident with death.
