High school Wifi?

My Daughter attends Wilmington high school. We had to purchase a Chrome book when she was a freshman .

We were all told it was for the betterment of the students, yesterday all of the students were instructed to bring their Chromebooks to school and the school was going to have them make choices for next years classes .

The Wifi in the school is disabled so that the Students will not go on social media during the school day, so how are they supposed to use the Chromebook with no Wifi?

They were unable to pick classes due to no Wifi and being unable to use the Chromebook...Really?

So my question is why did we buy a Chromebook that they cannot use in school due to Wifi restrictions?

If you can answer that I would be very grateful.
