Mary Delai Lands New Job
This post questions the logic behind Mary Delai landing another job in the public school systems after her arrest.
Upon reading Joe Lipovich’s article “Former Wilmington Superintendent Lands New Job in Watertown” I was left scratching my head. After Mary DeLai was arrested this past August for Operating Under the Influence, I find it illogical that she so easily landed herself another job in a school system. As a Wilmington resident, with a sister currently enrolled at Wilmington High School, I was glad to see Ms. DeLai resigned from her position as School Superintendent. It is clear that Mary DeLai has either an alcohol problem or a decision making problem. If she made the decision she could operate a vehicle while under the influence, who is to say she does not think she can effectively work a job in a school while under the influence. Now, with that being said, she has already landed herself the job as a school administrator in the Watertown Public School system. I just hope she has confronted her problem and taken some sort of counseling class to better educate herself on responsible drinking. Hopefully she has changed her approach towards alcohol and can give the students and town of Watertown a safe and reliable administrator.
