Police Quickly Capture Suspect Who Stole Wallet from Elderly Woman

Woman's wallet was stolen from her vehicle while at a local gas station.

Wilmington Police quickly captured a suspect after receiving a call at 11;52 a.m. Wednesday morning from an elderly female who had her wallet stolen from her vehicle while at a gas station on Main Street near the Woburn line.

Police said the male suspect was last seen running into the woods. Officers quickly converged on the area and set up a perimeter. Officer Palmer and K9 Ridic arrived on the scene within minutes and quickly began tracking the suspect. After realizing that K9 Ridic was on his trail, the suspect came out of the woods and gave himself up to Officers. K9 Ridic was able to recover the stolen properly.

The suspect has been identified as 44-year-old William Davis of Woburn. He was charged with Larceny From A Person 65 or Older and arraigned in Woburn District Court.
