Victim In Fatal Scuba Accident Was From Wilmington
Andrzej Holowenczak was an avid diver and a single father who leaves behind a young daughter.

WILMINGTON, MA -- An unresponsive scuba diver pulled from the water at Pebble Beach in Rockport Thursday was from Wilmington. First responders administered CPR to Andrzej Holowenczak, 53, before transporting him to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucesterr, where he was pronounced dead.
Rockport Police, who received the 911 call at 10:06 am Thursday, say Holowenczak was diving with three other people who pulled him from the water when they realized he was unresponsive. Rockport Police are continuing their investigation but said no foul play is suspected.
Holowenczak was a registered nurse and worked as the clinical care nursing coordinator at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. After immigrating from Poland, Holowenczak worked as an EMT in New York City before moving to Massachusetts in 2003. He worked as a licensed practical nurse while earning his registered nursing degree and had worked at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center since 2014.

His wife, Candace, died in 2011. Holowenczak is survived by his young daughter.
