Wilmington, MA Native Invited to Participate at National Academy of Engineering’s FOEE Symposium

Andrew Myers, an assistant professor at Northeastern University, will attend the FOEE Symposium in California next month.

Andrew Myers, Ph.D., P.E. assistant professor in the department of civil and environmental engineering at Northeastern University, was recently invited to participate at the National Academy of Engineering’s eighth Frontiers of Engineering Education (FOEE) Symposium, which will be held in late September in Irvine, CA.

Chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants, conference attendees were nominated by members of the National Academy of Engineering or deans.

A Wilmington native and Jamaica Plain resident, Dr. Myers’ research includes offshore and onshore wind energy structures, large-scale experimental testing of structures, computational mechanics-based simulation, and probabilistic modeling of structural and natural systems. Dr. Myers received his B.S. from Johns Hopkins University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University. All three of his degrees are in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
