Acera students clean up Aberjona River

Project is part of the school's Environmental Action Club elective

Students at the Acera School in Winchester are devoting time each week to removing trash from the Aberjona River. The effort is part of Acera's Environmental Action Club elective.

The Environmental Action Club elective empowers students to think creatively about how they can make a tangible difference locally for the environment, such as researching the cost and feasibility of installing solar panels on the school's roof, or organizing local clean up efforts.

Founded in 2010, Acera engages students in individualized, project-based learning that is designed around their passions and aligned with their own abilities. In addition to K-10 education, Acera offers daily after-school enrichment programs as well as February, April, and summer vacation camps. The school will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, November 6 from 10am to 12pm. Learn more about Acera at aceraschool.org.
