 or spiritual teacher, authorized to teach by HH ShaMar Rinpoche. He has
 devoted over 26 years to sharing the religious and spiritual teachings 
of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. He has traveled across the world, 
translating and interpreting Buddhist teachings for highly accomplished 
Tibetan lamas and masters from all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He 
is currently a chaplain at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

In this 2-hour April Break workshop, students will get a hands-on introduction to the design and building process featured in our week-long Summer course. They’ll create a small cardboard building complete with a door and windows, and explore how to add personality using textured details on the roof and facade. Along the way, students will practice basic construction techniques, creative problem-solving, and craftsmanship—getting a taste of how ideas can turn into unique structures. This session is a fun, fast-paced preview of the full experience, perfect for curious builders and imaginative creators!

Get ready for a colorful, creative mini adventure in art! This 2-hour workshop is a fun “taste” of our weeklong summer program, giving kids a chance to explore the vibrant world of yarn painting in a quick, hands-on experience.
Students will design and create their own mini cartoon portrait using bright yarn to build texture, color, and personality. Inspired by the bold, expressive style of traditional yarn art, kids will learn how to use line, shape, and color to turn simple drawings into fuzzy, eye-catching masterpieces.
This workshop is all about creativity and self-expression—perfect for young artists who love to draw, experiment, and try something new. By the end, each student will take home a one-of-a-kind yarn portrait that’s playful, personal, and full of character!

Our talented instructor will guide you through glazing and surface decoration techniques, then you’ll have the freedom to design a goblet that’s uniquely yours.
Once the workshop wraps up, we’ll carefully fire your piece in our kiln to bring out the colors and create a durable, food-safe finish. Your finished goblet will be ready for pickup in about two weeks—and perfect for enjoying your favorite drink at home.

Andover Choral Society directed by Matthew Buono and New England Classical Singers directed by David Hodgkins&nbsp;present "Songs of Freedom", a musical celebration of our nation's 250th Anniversary. The concert offers an exploration of choral music created at pivotal times in American history, from the 1700s to the 21st&nbsp;century. Themes of peace, conflict, gallantry, pioneering, and enduring hope resonate throughout this program – all presented by two of the Merrimack Valley’s most beloved choral groups. This special performance features a guest appearance by The Danvers Alarm List Company, an 18th-century living history reenactment group, creating a unique patriotic experience.&nbsp;Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and $10 for students. First time students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel including centering and pulling walls to create bowls, cups and plates as well as how to trim and glaze pieces before the final firing.
Experienced students will take their work to the next level: adding attachments like handles and spouts and carving and sculpting texture. All students will have their own wheel for the entirety of the class period.
Course fee includes access to tools, clay, and glazes.Class runs 5/04 - 6/22

This week, you’ll travel far beyond Earth and into outer space using your imagination and creativity. Young artists will explore the stars as they create bright, glowing galaxy paintings, experiment with cosmic colors, and learn fun techniques to make space really shine.
You’ll also build your very own cardboard rocket ships, designing them with windows, fins, and special details for imaginary space missions. Along the way, you’ll create silly alien masks and other space-themed crafts, inventing friendly (or funny!) creatures from faraway planets.
