Death in Winchester Being Investigated

"This is an active and ongoing investigation, but at this time, we do not believe that this was a random act."

Winchester Police Chief Kenneth C. Albertelli said the Middlesex District Attorney’s office is investigating an unattended death on Swanton Street.

The chief said the DA’s office has jurisdiction over unattended deaths so the department can’t comment ”more directly” about the case.

Albertelli said, “At 9 a.m. today, Winchester Police conducted a well-being check at a home on Swanton St. Upon arrival, officers found the body elderly female inside the home. The Winchester Police Department is working closely with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, which has authority over unattended deaths in the county. This is an active and ongoing investigation, but at this time, we do not believe that this was a random act.”
