Lee Kimball's Food, Wine & Design

Lee Kimball, one of greater Boston’s most award-winning design/build firms, is ushering in the holiday season on Thursday, October 27th with a special Food, Wine and Design event to unveil their newest design, a wine bar concept combining Poggenpohl cabinetry and Sub-Zero wine storage and refrigeration.

“We invite interested homeowners to mix and mingle at our Selection Center at Two Lowell Avenue in Winchester,” said Bruce Johnson, who co-owns Lee Kimball with his brother Gregg Johnson. “We’ll be sampling fine wines by Pairings, hors d’oeuvres by Sandrino’s and luscious chocolates from The Chocolate Truffle.”

Johnson said the Lee Kimball team thought this would be a perfect time to showcase their newest wine bar design, as homeowners are starting to really focus on their 2011 holiday season home inspirations. Lee Kimball designed the new space and partnered with Poggenpohl, reputed to be the world’s leading luxury kitchen cabinet manufacturer, and Clarke, New England’s exclusive distributor for Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, to create this unique entertainment area.

“Many of our clients love incorporating wine storage into their kitchens, home theaters and even bathrooms,” said E.J. Krupinsky, one of Lee Kimball’s’ award-winning designers. “And while Sub-Zero offers small free-standing models, their real wine storage hallmark is found in built-in units that can be integrated into the cabinetry and store anywhere from 46 to 147 bottles at optimum temperature and humidity.

“We chose Poggenpohl cabinetry for this space,” he continued, “as they offer a myriad of options and allowed us tremendous design freedom with over 70 styles of cabinet fronts and finishes including wood veneers, lacquers, laminates and glass. We think our guests will be pleased with our selections and the way this installation has come together. We hope this entire evening will inspire homeowners to entertain in a new way this holiday season.”
