League of Women Voters Holds High School Voter Registration

Winchester League of Women Voters helps eligible students register to vote. Registered students may vote in the Town Election March 27.

The League of Women Voters of Winchester and Town Clerk Mary Ellen Lannon assisted dozens of WHS students with voter registration at the High School on Thursday, January 25. In addition to 18-year-olds who will be eligible to vote in the Town Election on March 27, members of the League worked with 16- and 17-year-olds to pre-register - a relatively new service of the Clerk’s Office enabling the prospective voters to be “in the system” and registered to vote when they do reach their 18th birthday. Winchester High School provided Chrome laptops for online processing, while some students preferred traditional paper registration.

Shown in photos (L-R) are League members Margot Sudbury and Amanda Lewis, Eve Coffey and Michelle Bartalini assisting students. The last date to register to vote in the Town Election is March 7, 2018. For more information about the Winchester League of Women Voters, events and membership, please visit www.lwvwinchester.org .
