Obituary - Elsie M. Sylvester

Elsie M. Sylvester, age 97, of Lexington, formerly of Winchester, passed away on October 5, 2024. Born and raised in Winchester, she was the loving daughter of the late Ralph P. and Ersilia (Noviello) Sylvester. Elsie graduated from Winchester High School and received her Bachelor’s degree, which her parents felt was important for their daughters long before it was the norm. After graduation, Ms. Sylvester went to work in the Dermatology Department at Massachusetts General Hospital where she spent her whole career in research.

Elsie was the dear sister of Florence, Irene, Constance, Frank, Frances, Beatrice, Cornelia and Phyllis. She was also the loving aunt of Peter, Frank, Mark, Karen, Lisa and Godson Ralph, and is further survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and was preceded in death by grandnephew Jacob Fulton.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, October 12, at 9:30 AM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 10AM. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
