Obituary - Naomi M. Hurley
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23 @ 10AM in St. Mary's Church, Winchester.

Naomi M. (Sweeney) Hurley, age 95, a 50-year resident of Winchester, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. She was the beloved wife for 53 years to Matthew J. Hurley, Jr., until his death in 2007.
Born in County Kerry, Ireland, Naomi was the daughter of John and Mary (Sullivan) Sweeney. She came to the United States at age 15 and settled in Marblehead, where she graduated from Marblehead High School with the class of 1950. She met the love of her life, Matt, while ballroom dancing at the Wonderland Ballroom, and they continued dancing throughout their lives.
As one of eleven children, an active household was her life, and she and Matt continued that family tradition by welcoming five children. As a homemaker, her life revolved around her family.
Naomi enjoyed taking walks with her husband strolling hand-in-hand through Winchester Center and she continued healthy walking habits until she was 91 years old. She could also be found entertaining her grandchildren at any given time.
Naomi is survived by her children: Matthew J. Hurley III and his wife Kim of Winchester, John D. Hurley and his wife Deirdre of Danvers, Mark S. Hurley and his wife Vanessa Muccino of Alexandria, VA, Linda M. Tambone and her husband Clifton Cunningham of Winchester, and William C. Hurley and his wife Vanessa of Charleston, SC. She was also the grandmother of Alana Hurley, Jacqueline de Grandpre, Olivia Lee Cunningham, Peter Tambone, Hannah Pinto, Rebecca Iantosca, Matt Hurley, Thomas Hurley, David Hurley, Daniel Hurley, Ben Hurley, George Hurley and the late David M. Hurley and William Hurley. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, February 24 at 10AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
