Two Winchester Businesses Considered Top Places to Work
Winchester Hospital and RE/MAX are considered two of the better places to work in the state.
has been named No. 4 in the large employer category on the Globe 100’s Top Places to Work 2011. Winchester Hospital – which earned the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 rankings in the Globe’s last three listings of top employers in Massachusetts, respectively – was this year’s highest ranked health care organization.
Joining the hospital is , which was also named to the list. Companies were ranked by size and RE/MAX Leading Edge was ranked No. 7 out of the 40 award winners in the small company category.
The Globe 100’s Top Places to Work 2011, which was published in the Sunday Boston Globe on Nov. 6, is based on confidential surveys from 73,813 employees at 237 private, public and nonprofit organizations in Massachusetts. It recognizes the most progressive companies in the state based on employee opinions about company direction, execution, managers, careers, conditions, pay and benefits.

“I believe that the only way an associate is going to give his clients his best is when he is happy. The organization must provide an environment that attracts the best and the brightest and then treats them with respect loyalty and support”, answered Mr. Mydelski when asked why he thought his surveyed associates’ answers put the company on the list.
The report was compiled by WorkplaceDynamics of Exton, Pa., specialists in employee engagement and retention. The rankings were organized into three categories: large, midsize and small companies.

In June, Winchester Hospital was named to Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in Massachusetts list in the large company category for the ninth year in a row. The hospital placed No. 9 this year, based on excellence in employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture. This spring, Winchester Hospital was named a Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospital and received two highly esteemed awards from HealthGrades: the 2011 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ and the 2010/2011 HealthGrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™.
