Winchester's Errico to Continue Campaign : Report

According to a report by Wicked Local Winchester, Errico is anxious to get back to the campaign.

WINCHESTER, MA—Winchester Board of Selectman candidate David Errico is continuing his campaign after numerous unfortunate incident.

According to a report by Wicked Local Winchester, Errico considered dropping out of the race after finding two dead ducks on his lawn on March 11, as well as a vandalism incident involving his vehicle. Errico said that he was lifted up by support from the community.

Reports Wicked Local Winchester's Melissa Russell, who broke the story.

Errico said over a 10-day period, half of his campaign signs had been removed from private property, and that his vehicle had been egged. Then on March 11, he found the birds, which appeared to have been deliberately killed, one with its neck broken and the other stabbed with a knife or stick.

“The police said it was done by a disturbed person,” he said. “If the selectman’s race had anything to do with it, it is incredibly disturbing.”

Errico did not receive any direct threats related to his campaign, he said.

The two incumbents running to keep their seats in Winchester’s only contested race said they were shocked to hear about the incident.

Jim Johnson said, “There is no place for that in Winchester.”

Lance Grenzebeck said he had never heard of anything similar happening in a Winchester election season.

The annual town election is on March 29. You can also view Russell's full report here.
