The Friends of the Woburn Public Library and Burbeen Free Lecture Series will host former Red Sox great Bernie Carbo at the Woburn Public Library on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
In his book Saving Bernie Carbo, co-written with Chelmsford clinical psychologist Dr. Peter Hantzis, we learn of his dysfunctional upbringing, his battles with drug and alcohol addiction, a suicide attempt, his conversion to Christianity and his founding of a ministry. Carbo and Hantzis will bring us back to the fall night in 1975 and share humorous and colorful clubhouse stories of a life in baseball. In a candid telling of the good and the bad, Carbo shares his personal growth and transformation brought about by his faith.
Admission is free, and no registration is necessary.
