I use to think that it was impossible to find the perfect restaurant. It seems that if you get good food, then service and atmosphere were the price. However I have been lucky enough to hit the culinary jackpot. I found the perfect little place where atmosphere, customer service and good food all complement each other in a culinary gem. Pushcart Italian Restaurant on Main Street in Saugus is a diner's dream.
I must admit I have been there several times and cannot believe I didn’t do this write-up sooner. I have been lucky enough to sample many items on the menu, as well as some off the menu chef’s specials, and each and every item has been amazing.
On my last visit I started with the fried tomatoes, yes folks fried tomatoes! You have not lived until you tried these. Pan fried tomatoes in a creamy tomato pesto
sauce and it is a little slice of heaven on a plate. For my main course I had one of the night’s specials: veal chop stuffed with prosciutto and topped with spinach in a cream sauce. Even after I was full I couldn’t stop eating it. Then for desert it was a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting…the perfect end to the perfect meal.

It’s not just the food that makes this restaurant something special. The atmosphere is the perfect combination of romance for a first date to a quaint family gathering. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating with one of the owners checking with dinners to make sure meals are to their liking. Everyone is greeted with a smile and treated like family from the minute they walk in.
