Cummings Properties executive office suites add 15,000 square feet

Cummings Properties has announced a 15,000-square-foot expansion of its executive office suites division. On July 1, 35 new offices at 100 TradeCenter in Woburn were opened in response to high demand for move-in-ready workspace.

Cummings Executive Suites has grown from a 3,500-square-foot experiment to an 80,000-square-foot major player in the industry. The original location, at the landmark TradeCenter 128 in Woburn, quickly expanded to 10 times its initial size in just three years. Cummings Properties built a second center next door at 100 TradeCenter after reaching capacity in 2011,

Both facilities are now at 100 percent occupancy, and 65 percent of the new offices constructed at 100 TradeCenter have already been leased. The new spaces will range from one-person offices to 1,500-square-foot, multi-room suites. An area will also be devoted to Launch, Cummings Properties’ coworking space.

Cummings Executive Suites general manager Patricia Whelchel said, “Our suites were bursting at the seams, with still more clients interested in them. As part of Cummings Properties, we had access to the space and design and construction expertise necessary to move quickly to accommodate the urgent need for small-scale, flexible workspace.”

The fully furnished offices will be available for short and long-term use, and will offer workplace services, such as telephone answering, mail handling, a professional receptionist, and free WiFi. The center is wired for phone and internet, and offers clients access to a kitchen, lounge, and conference room.

Whelchel noted that the offices cater to sole proprietors, startups, and branch and satellite facilities for regional, national, and Fortune 500 firms. Rates start at $349 per month, including utilities.

TradeCenter 128 is one of the highest profile sites in Cummings Properties’ 10-million-square-foot portfolio. According to Whelchel, a location at this major business campus offers Cummings Executive Suites clients access to on-site amenities that are typically unavailable to small businesses without a higher price tag.

“Having both MBTA service and free, covered parking is a huge benefit,” she noted. “Our clients also really appreciate the convenience of having coffee shops, restaurants, day care centers, dry cleaners, and other businesses located right at the same campus.”

Having enjoyed significant growth and continued demand, Cummings Executive Suites will soon open its third location. The first center outside of Woburn, the new site will offer 10,000 square feet of move-in-ready offices at Cummings Properties’ award-winning Cummings Center business and technology park in Beverly.
