Laid to Waste

So, this morning I saw a rat...

Yes, a rat.

He was crossing in front of 1071 Main St.

It got me to thinking. Why has this property not been deemed a "Public Nusiance?" If it was in any other part of the city it would have been declared a nuisance a long time ago.

And when I started looking at the big picture, I realized the whole strip of Rte. 38 from the Wilmington line to the Rte. 38 rotary is being laid to waste, and there seems to be nothing that's being done.

Oh sure, the pending gravel operation has made the news, and our alderman has made a few stands on it, but yet he says little on anything else. We got the solar panels shoved down our throats, 1071 Main St. is a mess, a drive-through traffic mess is pending and a development at the Church will add more traffic to the 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. mess that exists now... And yet our voice never once took a stand...Oh, he was really concerned about sandwiches being sold at the new drive-through.

But nary a word on the St. Anthony mess.
