SCI Awarded 9 New AmeriCorps Slots--Now Recruiting!
SCI is now recruiting for 9 new AmeriCorps positions it was recently awarded.

Social Capital Inc. is happy to announce that through a special competition SCI has been awarded 9 new half-year AmeriCorps slots, including 2 here in Woburn. The 9 new AmeriCorps members will serve from the mid-January until the end of June 2012. We are now recruiting members for this January.
The Woburn-based positions will be based at the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, they YMCA International Learning Center, and SCI. Other placements include new partnerships in Somerville, Chelsea, Chinatown and Quincy. This is a great opportunity for someone that may have just finished up school or is otherwise trying to determine their next steps.
The 9 AmeriCorps members will serve as either Outreach & Technology Coordinators or Youth Leadership Coordinators. As Outreach & Technology Coordinators, 6 members will serve to implement technology systems and traditional outreach efforts to recruit volunteers and to connect citizens with the information they need to participate in civic life. As Youth Leadership Coordinators, 3 members will implement a Youth Leadership curriculum that emphasizes a learning by doing approach that trains teenagers to organize projects that engage their peers in Community Service Learning (CSL) and other civic activities.
Those interested in serving with SCI should contact the SCI AmeriCorps Program Manager, Dan McConvey at dmcconvey AT socialcapitalinc.org with a cover letter and resume. More information on the positions can be found at http://socialcapitalinc.org/getinvolved/service.
