Smiles has a Home for the Holidays

Abandoned cat finally finds the home she deserves!

Most of the people that shop at pet supply stores are current pet owners, picking up food and other items for their furry family members.  From time to time these customers will wander by the adoption areas wishing they had room for another pet or wishing they could do more to help.  Many of the patrons at the PetSmart on Commerce Way in Woburn feel these same sentiments, especially when they see the same animals over and over again, just waiting to find their forever homes.  For one cat that has finally happened.  Woburn Feral Cat Coalition is happy to announce that Smiles has been adopted!

Smiles came to WFCC as a pregnant and abandoned stray.  After giving birth to her two kittens, Smiles was given a clean bill of health and placed for adoption.  She eventually joined WFCC's cats in PetSmart's adoption center where she contently resided for over a year.  Over the course of that year Smiles slowly attached herself to her caregivers and many of the PetSmart patrons.  "Smiles is still here?" was a question heard many times.  Smiles had become a fixture at the store.

In early November, WFCC received an email asking whether or not Smiles was still available for adoption.  A young couple that frequented PetSmart had recently lost their beloved kitty and were ready to bring a new pet into their lives.  They were interested in Smiles in the past, but the timing was just not right…until now!  Smiles was the perfect fit for their home and lifestyle.  Recent updates from her new owners let us all know that Smiles is going great and adjusting nicely.  While we may miss our pal Smiles, we’re all very happy that she finally has the home she deserves, and just in time for the holidays!
